As the weather (finally) is turning colder, it is clear we are headed into the home stretch for Masonic Year 2018. I hope that the holidays ahead are healthy and that you will be able to enjoy down time with your family, Brothers and friends!
After two years of as the Master of your Lodge, I cannot express adequately my thanks for the support of the officers in the Line and all the Brothers who have worked to ensure that we continue to produce Masonic research for the benefit of the Craft. In that vein, I am asking that you all make a special effort to attend the final communication of the A. Douglas Smith, Jr. Lodge of Research for this year. We will meet on Saturday, 15 December at 10:00 am in the North Lodge Room of the George Washington Masonic Memorial.
This meeting is an important one. Of course, we will be holding our elections for next year, and there are changes ahead - both for us as a Lodge and within Virginia's Research Lodges. I will present a short talk on efforts the Grand Lodge is taking to improve the ability of the six Research Lodges to coordinate together, and how the Research Lodges will look to move forward in 2019. Additionally, we have some new officers entering our line, so I hope you will be present to vote for and lend your support to our new Worshipful Master.
We will have a breakfast starting at 9am of Breakfast Tacos and Burritos with Coffee and Juice. As always, when we break at noon we will have a wonderful lunch of Mediterranean cuisine - so please make a point of coming out and being a part of this great day. I look forward to seeing you there!
Respectfully and Fraternally,
Worshipful Master 2018
A. Douglas Smith, Jr., Lodge of Research #1949
